Shaken, Not Stirred

In an iconic scene, James Bond asks for his martini shaken, not stirred. But how in the world does this apply to HR? Well first, James Bond is the epitome of cool and here at HR Shook being cool is kind of the point. But more specifically the point is to change the face of HR. HR needs a rebrand.

When I talk to people in HR we all want to do the same thing: help the business achieve their goals by putting in place aligned HR practices and tools to attain those business objectives. We want to HELP. So why are we seen as the bad guy? Well because HR has been thrown under the bus and used as the scape goat for mistakes made by crappy managers.

HR also just does a really terrible job at articulating what in the world they actually do nor do they have strong branding skills. Perhaps because we are so busy putting out fires we just don't do enough boasting.

Therefore, we want to shake up HR. Out with the boring, policy driven, policing personnel (say that 3 times fast) and in with an effective HR team that has an ear to ground, knows the organization and people inside and out, listens to the needs and emotions of the business and works with them to create high performing teams that thrive and excel.
